A Bold & Beautiful Kitchen Transformation

Kitchen Remodel Overview

Rebecca and Graham, a military family with a bold sense of style, wanted a kitchen that reflected their travels and diverse influences. Their existing layout lacked key features like a gas range and a high-powered range hood. We helped them design a space that maximized functionality while staying true to their unique aesthetic.

Design Goals

The vision for this renovation focused on:

Kitchen Key Features

Cabinet & Storage Upgrades

We installed new cabinetry designed to maximize storage while maintaining a clean, streamlined look. Improved cabinet layout enhanced organization and overall kitchen flow.

Countertops & Surfaces

Durable, high-quality countertops were selected for both beauty and everyday performance. The updated surfaces provide a clean workspace while elevating the kitchen’s overall design.

Lighting & Finishes

Modern lighting and updated finishes were added to brighten the space and highlight key design elements. Thoughtful details, including hardware and trim, tie the entire kitchen together.

Flooring & Layout Improvements

The kitchen layout was refined to improve movement and usability, creating a more efficient space for daily cooking and entertaining.

The Kitchen Remodel Challenges

The original kitchen layout was restrictive, and after exploring multiple design options, Rebecca and Graham decided on a remodel that maintained the existing footprint while improving functionality. One major challenge was the location of the staircase directly behind the fridge, which limited layout changes. Additionally, the house had a plumbing waste line that could not be relocated, requiring a creative solution to maintain a seamless design.

The Finished Kitchen

To create a high-performing kitchen that matched their bold style, we installed a 6-burner gas range and capped off the existing down draft for better cooking efficiency. A high-powered range hood was integrated into the ceiling joist bay, allowing for optimal ventilation without the need for a soffit and maintaining a clean ceiling line.

Our team also removed the back wall to open up the space, trading some cabinetry for a new eating bar that suited their love of entertaining. When structural limitations prevented moving a plumbing waste line, we adapted by modifying the upper cabinets and adding a subtle bump-out in the backsplash to conceal it. With careful planning and smart adjustments, Rebecca and Graham achieved their dream kitchen while staying within budget.

Happy Homeowners

“Had a great experience with Prime Craft. The whole team was super responsive and communicated very well. Master and hallway bathrooms both came out great. Would definitely recommend!
