Project Overview

A 25-year-old builder-grade main floor reshaped into an entertainment-ready home.

Mike and Andrea wanted their suburban Garden City home to reflect their style and make a memorable impression on guests. The 14-week transformation connected the kitchen, dining room, living room, and bathroom through one confident design, renewed the original oak flooring, and introduced a new staircase railing, oversized patio door, and additional window.

The Problem

A dated main floor needed to become a memorable place to gather.

Built 25 years ago with standard builder-grade finishes, the home no longer reflected the homeowners’ style or supported their goal of creating an entertainment-ready space that would impress guests.

The Solution

A design-forward transformation from dated to dramatic.

The kitchen became the focal point with a massive island, high-end finishes, and custom cabinetry. A new wet bar added luxury to the dining room, while a modernized fireplace, updated staircase, refinished oak flooring, oversized patio door, additional window, and statement bathroom carried the transformation across the main floor.

Project Key Features

  • Oversized island and 48-inch gas range
  • Iron Ore cabinetry and panel-ready appliances
  • Counter-to-ceiling tile backsplash
  • Dining-room wet bar, wainscoting, and wallpaper
  • Modernized fireplace with bold wood mantel
  • Statement bathroom with Chloe tile
  • Original 2¼-inch oak flooring refinished
  • New railing, patio door, and added window
